Wow, dusty in here...

I thought I'd give it all a bit of a clean up

Since I was last on I have upgraded form a 110 to a 93 200 Tdi Discovery 5 door and...

a 94 200 series Discovery Mpi 5 door!

Questions on both can now be asked

What are those mpi discos like? They always seem to get a very bad right up. I can't see the being that bad and possibly quite easy to tweak.

The press write up's are generally rubbish. Mainly I think down to lack of an open mind and the lack of V8 performance.

An Mpi will cruise at 75/80mph all day and will average the best part of 30mpg doing that. Drop to 65/70 and you will get 33mpg

Top speed is in excess of the magic tonne

Handling  - even without ARB's is really quite silly. The front end is so much lighter - 170kgs lighter than a 200Tdi so roll is vastly reduced...

Off road is much like a Suzuki SJ - not enough bottom end grunt really. But the Tbox is a 1.44:1 unit so there is a fair capability. Towing is not it's strong point - but a light caravan or a 1.5 tonne trailer will behave very well

What surprises me is the way it just keeps pulling, steadily all the way up to and beyond the point a V8 will suffer form valve bounce.

I'd put some pictures up but I cant
